Help Me Grow is a program for pregnant women and families with children birth to three (3) years of age. The goal of HMG is to ensure that newborns, infants, and children have the best possible start in life. This voluntary program provides information on child development, safety, literacy, and community resources. HMG supports parents as full partners in their child's social and emotional development, laying the foundation for later school success.
Help Me Grow (HMG) services include:
Prenatal support: Service coordinators can assist expectant first-time mothers by providing them with in-home health and prenatal education information as well as assisting them in accessing other community resources/programs if needed.
Ongoing Home visitation: Ongoing home visitation is a component of Preble County Help Me Grow that provides direct services to expectant or first time mothers/fathers whose baby is less than six (6) months of age at the time of referral and vulnerable because environmental, family, or health circumstances put them at risk for future developmental difficulties and various challenges. HMG strives to ensure that children receive proper medical care, encourages parents to utilize community resources and services, provides parents with ongoing support for the continuing challenges of parenting, and familiarizes parents with present and future needs of their children.
Children with Developmental Concerns: HMG assists with early identification of children with developmental concerns or disabilities and works closely with various providers to offer Early Intervention services.
If you think your child has a delay or your child has been diagnosed with a condition that may affect his/her development, you are entitled to a free evaluation under the Individual With Disability Act- IDEA (Public Law 102-119).
Help Me Grow services are now housed at and provided by the Preble County General Health District, 615 Hillcrest Drive, Eaton, Ohio.
