County Commissioner David Wesler, Township Trustees, Village Mayors, the Engineer's Office, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, the Sheriff's Office, Job & Family Services, the HIT foundation, the Health District and interested residents have teamed up to address complex environmental issues in Preble County. In the hopes of improving the lives of Preble County residents and aiding neighborhood stability, these community partners are meeting quarterly to discuss nuisances, blight and the future vitality of Preble County. This diverse group is meeting to achieve solutions to public issues that go beyond what any one party can do alone. Having a successful collaborative approach will prevent, reduce, and eliminate environmental hazards from all four corners of Preble County and everywhere in between. State law and local ordinances allow villages, the City and township officials to address nuisance properties. The next meeting is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Preble County Engineer's Office. Meetings are open to the public.
