The Preble County Board of Health presented Carol Perry with a gift to honor her years of service.  Pictured are Peter Sambol, George Henry, Carol Perry, Health Commissioner Melissa Wallace, Deborah Vanzant, and James Maynard.

On May 20, 2010, with much regret, the Preble County General Health District Board of Health accepted the resignation of Carol Perry, R. Ph. effective June 1, 2010.

Carol graduated from Eaton High School in 1977 and attended Ohio Northern University where she studied Pharmacology.  She has been the Pharmacist/owner of Camden Village Pharmacy since 1982. In 1990 she was appointed to the Preble County General Health District Board of Health, replacing B. F. Otto, D.V.M. She served as Board President for seven years. Carol states one of the many highlights during her service on the Board was over-seeing the move of the Health Department to its current location at 615 Hillcrest Drive in Eaton.

Also, on May 20, 2010, The Board of Health appointed Jo Ellen Tapalman, L.P.N. to replace Carol.  Jo Ellen is a 1979 high school graduate of Twin Valley South and a graduate of the Dayton School of Nursing.  Jo Ellen served on the Board of Health from March 1996 to March 2002 replacing her father-in-law, John Tapalman, after his death.  Jo Ellen currently is a L.P.N. and the Office Manager at Eaton Family Care Center. She is also a member of the District Licensing Council.  Jo Ellen states she looks forward to serving the Preble County Community.
